The Film Society is Des Moines' vintage photo booth experience, bringing back real, tangible momentsssss one strip at a time. Think retro curtain booths, checkered floors, and that classic film photo nostalgia, but make it a whole vibe. They've only been open a few months and are already kicking butt, booking weddings, breweries, and everything in between, because good company deserves to be captured the old school way!!
The Film Society is a vintage photo booth experience based in Des Moines, Iowa. They opened just a few months ago and have been kicking butt in their business ever since, booking up fast with that retro curtain booth, checkered floor, "proof you were there" energy.
A cohesive, flexible brand identity built in a single day that finally feels like them. They now have a full toolkit that leads with recognition and personality while still speaking straight to the wedding clients who are their biggest opportunity for growth.
"Okaaaay first of all... I LOVE IT. Seeing everything come together has me so excited and it feels so much more elevated than what I was working with before. I genuinely don't know how you did all of this in one day! This is everything. Ugh I just love it all. Honestly so glad I did the intensive. Branding for my photography biz took months of back and forth (and indecisiveness from me ha) so doing all this in a day is way more what I needed!"
They threw together a logo on their own to get started, but it never felt like THEM, and it definitely was not attracting the right crowd. Their original vibe leaned more brewery and record store, moody, retro, a little edgy. But once they got going they realized their biggest market was actually the wedding industry. So the challenge became building a brand that could play both sides, still lead with that strong retro identity for recognition, while also speaking directly to their ideal wedding clientele. They needed a brand that would find them, see them, and know exactly who they are.
A full Brand in a Day Intensive!! We built a warm, retro color palette of olive, terracotta, cream, maroon and espresso that keeps that record store and brewery edge, then layered in a logo suite versatile enough to move between both worlds, a primary wordmark, a circular badge, an oval stamp, and a diamond submark, plus hand drawn illustrations of the booth itself. The "proof you were there" tagline ties every piece together, giving them a brand that feels retro and cool for their original crowd, but polished and inviting enough to book weddings too.
